What was everyone expecting ? An APS-C size sensor mirror-less camera with small fast lenses to rival the micro four thirds
What did Nikon produce? A tiny sensor with 2.7x crop factor
So what does this mean?
Your Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 that you planned on using - is now 135mm
You can't use your existing flashes - they are a new system
What the fastest lens in the new format ? A 10mm (27mm) f/2.8 - that coupled with the tiny sensor means those shots you planned on taking with the nice out of focus background aren't going to be happening anytime soon.
The ISO performance isn't going to rival the APS-C competition, Sony NEX or dare I say it the (overpriced) Fuji X100
Nikon - epic failure, if the D700 and D3 replacements are this bad you guys are in big trouble.
